Matching Card Activity

 


Matching activity helping children to improve several cognitive abilities like visual memory, short term memory, pattern recognition, and helps with focus.

 

The material I need are cardboard that I cut in card size, and coloured felt soft fabric. I use Velcro, which is a hook-and-loop fastener, to fasten the card and the felt together.



 

Learning Outcome:

4.2 – Children develop a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, inquiry, experimentation, hypothesising, researching, and investigating

 

National Quality Standard:

3.2.2 – Resources, materials, and equipment allow for multiple uses, are sufficient in number, and enable every child to engage in play-based learning

Matching Colour Activity

Lego Matching Shape

  I made the resources using old Lego, then I drew the shape on the cardboard.  This activity encourage children practice many learning opportunities such as: ·   fine motor control ·  hand and eye coordination ·  concentration and problem solving ·  simple sorting and matching by shapes ·  early counting   By figuring out how to put each piece into its proper mark, children learn to categorise and eventually name shapes.
